What is a recycled asphalt driveway?
It is a driveway made from asphalt millings. Millings are old asphalt pavement, ground off the road surface and then crushed and screened. We lay them with a paving machine and roll them in with a vibratory roller.
Do asphalt millings harden after they go down?
They tighten up over time. The vibratory roller packs the millings in on the day we lay them. Over the months after that, the drive keeps tightening as it cures.
Can you put recycled asphalt over my old gravel driveway?
Yes. Topping an old gravel drive or a worn asphalt drive with millings is part of our recycled asphalt work. We grade the old surface first when it needs it, then lay and roll the millings on top.
Do you pave hot mix asphalt driveways too?
Yes, we pave new hot mix asphalt driveways, plus extensions and turnarounds. The hot mix comes from a local asphalt plant, and we lay it with our paving machine and roller. Walkways, sidewalks, patios and game courts are part of that work too. Concrete is another trade, so a concrete driveway calls for a concrete contractor.
Do you pave parking lots for churches and small businesses?
Yes, small ones. Our parking lot paving covers small lots and parking pads for churches, shops, offices and mobile home parks. We pave them in recycled asphalt or hot mix and mark the lines when the paving is done. We leave large commercial lots and highway paving to other companies.
My gravel driveway keeps washing out. What can you do?
Waycross gets about 50 inches of rain a year, and June to August are the wettest months. That much rain on flat, sandy ground is hard on a gravel drive. We re-grade a washed or rutted drive and shape it so water runs off. Then we top it with fresh gravel or crusher run, or with recycled asphalt millings.
Do you do sealcoating and chip seal?
Yes. We sealcoat asphalt driveways and small parking lots. We lay chip seal, also called tar and chip, on long drives and farm lanes. We also grade drives and lots before the paving or the gravel goes down.
What area do you work in?
We are based in Waycross, in Ware County, and we work about 50 miles around it. The towns we serve include Brunswick, Kingsland, St. Marys, Douglas, Jesup, Baxley, Folkston, Hazlehurst, Blackshear and Alma. Smaller places like Nahunta, Homerville, Pearson and Patterson are in our area too.
How does pricing work?
Call or text (912) 239-0212, and we look at the job and put a free estimate in writing. The size of the job and the material you pick shape the price. So do the grading and any work on the old surface. The estimate covers the material, the hauling and the install.
